Sand Hollow State Park

 

Sand Hollow State Park is a state park of Utah, USA, featuring a 1,322-acre reservoir and an extensive off highway vehicle recreation area on Sand Mountain. The park is near the town of Hurricane.

Gunlock Reservoir and State Park

 

Surrounded by red rock and extinct lava cinder cones lies the 240 acre Gunlock State Park and Reservoir. The park provides boating, fishing, and swimming. Nestled in scenic red rock country, Gunlock is a year-round destination.

Gunlock Reservoir does have waterfalls, they are located on the south end of the lake, but they only run when they have overflow. When the Gunlock reservoir is full, these waterfalls are a gorgeous sight to behold as the main source of outflow for the reservoir. A few short hiking trails go to the waterfalls. Lake Powell

 

Lake Powell is a large artificial lake formed by damning the Colorado River a couple hours east of St. George. People flock there for water fun and the chance to explore many side canyons filled with spectacular rock formations and Indian ruins. Location: southeast Utah/Arizona Phone: (435) 684-2457

 

Quail Creek Reservoir and State Park

 

Quail Creek State Park sits at the base of Pine Valley Mountain, facing views of Zion National Park. The 40,000-acre reservoir boasts some of the warmest water in Utah, and St. George`s temperate climate allows year-round enjoyment.

Fed by the Virgin River, fishing for trout, crappie, and large mouth bass is a huge draw to Quail Creek, as are boating and other water sports. (Please note that there is a strictly enforced 40-boat limit from May through September.) Quail Creek State Park has a 23-site campground for both tent and RV camping, with two group-use pavilions and restrooms. Quail Creek is just 14 miles north of St. George via I-15. Beaver Dam State Park, NV

Lake Mead National Recreation Area

 

Lake Mead National Recreation Area in Eastern Nevada along Interstate 15 is mainly used by boaters and campers. Boaters particularly enjoy Lake Mead since it is warmer than other lakes.
